Little Children's Aid is a non-profit organization that was
founded in 1907 to provide for the children left homeless and
orphaned by the San Francisco earthquake and fire. The
original agency and its volunteer auxiliary were the
forerunner of today's Catholic Charities CYO of San Francisco
and The Auxiliary of Little Children's Aid. In 1949, Little
Children's Aid Junior Auxiliary separated from the original
group in an effort ot expand its outreach.
Our fundraising efforts help support the children's programs
of Catholic Charities CYO. In particular, we support
Rita da
Cascia (an
outreach program for women and their children impacted by
chronic illness and homelessness),
St. Joseph's Family Center (a shelter
for homeless families with children) and Treasure Island
Child Development Center (a center for
family support and quality childcare). Through
the volunteer efforts of our members, we work in conjunction
with the Program Directors of our targeted residential and
service programs. LCA organizes projects that directly benefit
each individual in the facility.
Little Children's Aid is a volunteer organization
